OCOP - Owner Operator Certificate of Proficiency
The Owner Operator Certificate of Proficiency (OCOP) program is specifically designed for Yukon-based businesses owned and operated by a single individual with no employees and no subcontractors.
This program provides sole proprietors with a practical and accessible way to develop their workplace safety knowledge. Through the OCOP program, participants will gain an understanding of Yukon’s Workplace Health and Safety legislation and regulations, including the duties and responsibilities of self-employed persons. Building this awareness supports compliance, strengthens safety practices, and demonstrates due diligence under territorial law.
If your business occasionally hires employees or subcontractors, but you still wish to pursue a recognized safety certification, the Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR®) program may be a better fit for your needs.
If you are unsure which program is most appropriate for your business, please contact us at (867) 633-6673 or admin@yukonsafety.com — our team will be happy to assist you.
