Health & Safety Administration


This one-day course is intended for those who are completing their National Health & Safety Administrator (NHSA) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation.

A knowledgeable and experienced administrator can be an excellent resource to any workplace’s Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).  This one-day course explores administrative topics related to workplace health and safety.

Through facilitated instruction, discussion, and exercises, this course will:



  • Provide participants with knowledge of health and safety administration strategies.




  • Explore methods on how to assist management in the implementation and administration of a workplace-wide management system.





  • Provide information on how to analyze and measure the effectiveness of the H&S program.




  • Explore methods and opportunities for H&S communication/promotion.



 

After completing this course participants will have information to use as they:



  • Assist management to plan, organize, lead, and control the administration of the health, safety and environmental program.




  • Analyze safety-related statistical data.




  • Identify trends.




  • Make recommendations to management, supervisors, and workers.




  • Manage the safety records of the workplace’s H&S program.



This course is a requirement for people seeking certification as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA).

Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) requires a computer with stable internet access, audio/visual capabilities and a quiet learning space. You will receive an invite by email from the instructor 1-2 days prior to the course. A NSNY staff member will contact you to either arrange for pick up or to have the course materials emailed to you.
